A. Motor Installation - in existing chimney stack
- Where possible, mount the fan motor as far away from the extractor unit as possible, this will help to reduce the noise level.
- Mount the motor on the inside of the flue stack in a position where it is accessible for maintenance with the 2 mounting brackets provided. Attach the flexible duct to the bottom of the motor with the clamp provided and drop the loose end down the flue stack. The loose end of the flexible duct must be attached to the spigot on the centre panel of the extractor with the clamp provided. The power supply to the fan motor must be dropped down the inside of the flue or the flexible pipe and connected to the terminal block provided on the inside of the extractor housing.
- Ensure that the top of the motor is protected from the elements by either a cowl, wall cowl or wall louvre.
B. Motor Installation - with exposed flue pipes
- Where possible, mount the fan motor as far away from the extractor unit as possible, this will help to reduce the noise level.
- Slide the motor housing into the stainless steel flue liner and secure the motor housing with the wall bracket provided. Secure the flue liners at 1200mm intervals, drop the flexible cord down the inside of the flue liner into the extractor unit and connect to terminal block provided on the inside of the extractor housing.
- Ensure that the top of the motor is protected from the elements by either a cowl, wall cowl or wall louvre.
Extractor Installation
-
Remove the center panel for easier access of the flue and mounting holes.
- The extractor should be mounted on the wall at no more than 800mm from the BBQ cooking surface or 1800mm above floor level.
- Draw a line on the wall at the height that you wish to have the bottom of the extractor. Mark the wall on this line to indicate the center point continue this line to the ceiling level. Also make a mark on the underside of the extractor in the center.
- Hold the extractor in position (On the line with the 2 center marks lining up) and mark the 4 mounting holes on the back frame.
- Drill 8mm holes on these marks, and fit the extractor by means of the 4 easi-drive anchors provided.
- Connect the motor cable to the connector block at the back of the extractor and plug the unit in.
- When fitting the duct cover, measure the length of duct cover you will need and cut accordingly. Mount the duct cover bracket to the highest possible point on the wall, centering the bracket on the vertical line.
- Fit the cover by clipping it in behind the mounting frame of the extractor and the top bracket. This should fit tightly behind the bracket.
